How Mike Evans Is Building a Healthier Fan Community: One Habit at a Time
July 2025
Mike Evans and Mikayla Nagl discuss the power of community and connection through sports fandom on the Denver Sports Betting Show.
For Mike Evans, being a fan has always been about more than the game. It’s about connection, energy, and showing up as your authentic self in the stands and in life. As the founder of Fan Day Nation and Evans Performance Advisors (EPA), Mike has spent years building platforms that bring people together. Now, he’s taking that mission even further, with a renewed focus on health, wellness, and building better habits for fans everywhere.
In a recent interview on the Denver Sports Betting Show, Mike shared the personal journey that led him here: from Air Force officer to corporate leader to small business owner and now, to community builder with a passion for wellness.
A Journey Fueled by Service and Growth
Before Fan Day Nation, Mike served as a U.S. Air Force officer, leading teams in high-pressure roles, including nuclear security and SWAT operations during Desert Storm. After his military service, he transitioned to the corporate world, holding leadership roles in medical device sales with companies like Johnson & Johnson.
But for Mike, something was missing.
“I loved serving my country and the people I worked with,” he explained. “But I didn’t want to be defined by the corporate culture. I wanted to create something on my own, something authentic.”
That vision sparked the creation of Evans Performance Advisors and Fan Day Nation: both rooted in community, authenticity, and helping people be their best.
Bringing Wellness Into the Fan Experience
As Fan Day Nation grew, Mike realized that being a great fan isn’t just about wearing your team’s colors. It’s about showing up as your healthiest, most resilient self.
“Sports are part of our DNA,” Mike shared. “But so is well-being. We want to support fans holistically, not just with jerseys and gear, but with the tools to live a longer, healthier life.”
That philosophy led to the launch of The Habit Hub, Fan Day Nation’s new wellness platform designed to help fans build better habits for life. From sleep and energy management to weight management, movement, and mindset, The Habit Hub is all about small, sustainable changes that fuel long-term health.
Start Your Health Journey with the Habit Finder Assessment
The first step? Self-awareness.
Mike credits his own breakthrough to the Habit Finder Health Assessment, a simple tool that helped him reflect on his health habits and where he wanted to improve.
“That was my awakening,” he said. “It helped me take control of my health journey, and now I want to help others do the same.”
The Habit Finder Health Assessment is available to anyone ready to start their own journey. It’s the foundation for building new habits that support physical health, mental resilience, and intrinsic motivation, the self-motivation that drives real, lasting change.
Building a Supportive, Healthy Community
Fan Day Nation isn’t going it alone. Through partnerships with experienced coaches like Dave Blanchard and Lee Steinberg, the community offers guidance on everything from mindset to well-being to creating the life you want, both inside and outside the stadium.
The message is simple:
-
Build healthy habits.
-
Connect with like-minded fans.
-
Become the best version of yourself.
